Hi!

So, it took me a really long time to finally decide on a template for this blog. I already have a hard time choosing favorite colors... I even added CSS and looked up codes to try new things. One version used the ‘Young Money’ label as a background image.

I realized, though, that a blog should be about the words and photos one shares, not the design of the template. So it’s going to be plain, and I think that’s a good thing.

Anyways! I’m going to Cape Town, South Africa this summer. I’ll be leaving NJ in two days! I have a 12 hour layover in the UK - I’m meeting another person from my program and we’re going to explore London for a bit! So that should be cool.

In SA, I’m going to be working at this high school. I’m still not 100% of what I’ll be doing, but I think it’s along the lines of a teacher’s aide/tutor. I’m also collecting data for my Honors Thesis! About the writing processes of the students there. I am SOO excited.
 
It still hasn’t completely hit me that I’m leaving so soon. I feel like I just got home, and every day has just been so busy, that I haven’t had time to truly acknowledge what’s happening/how little time I have.

Actually, there was one moment yesterday, where it started to hit me. I was lying in my room and my mom came in and gave me a bunch of Ziploc bags. I don’t know why, but that was when SA started to become real. We all have different moments, I guess.

Also, it's going to be winter there! From what I've read/heard, it'll be in 40 - 60's (F). So that's nice! This heat in NJ has made me want to sleep all day.
